Our Around Reykjavik and Golden Circle includes visits to: Presidential residence (Bessastadir City) – Hafnarfjörður City – Perlan (Viewing Point) – Höfði House – Hallgrímskirkja Church – Old Town Center – Þingvellir National Park – Gullfoss Waterfall – Geysir Hotspring Area
We will start our tour by traveling around Reykjavik´s neighboring cities Hafnarfjörður. We will stop at Perlan where you can get a panorama view of Reykjavik and the neighboring cities. We then head towards the seafront and visit the place where the cold war ended. Our other stops in Reykjavik include the “Old Town” and the iconic church in Reykjavik.
Our Golden Circle includes stops at the National Park Thingvellir, the geothermal area of Geysir and the Gullfoss waterfall.
Our first stop is at the National Park Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the parliament of Iceland was founded during Viking times the year 930. Thingvellir is also famous for its continental rift separating the Eurasia Plate and the North American Plate.
Visit the extravagant waterfall Gullfoss. It originates from the river Hvitá river in the southwest Iceland. It´s height is up to 32 meters. Our next visit is at a geothermal area of Haukadal valley home to the Geysir and Strokkur. The name Geysir is originally from this Geysir with boiling water eruptions up to 50 meters when it erupts. This hot spring area is also an earthquake active area.
