Snæfellsnes National Park is situated on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. A beautiful area located on the west side of Iceland famous for its beauty and the glacier Snæfellsnesjökull. Our first stop at the peninsula is at Gerðuberg, famous for its basalt colums, forming geometric patterns in the cliffs. After taking a walk around these cliffs we will stop at Arnarstapi and enjoy its beaches and scenery. Here you can enjoy hiking and bird watching. On a lucky day, you might also see seals in the ocean.
Our next stop is at the National Park where you will see more of wild life, lava and craters. We also get to explore Vatnshellir, a cave filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and weird lava formations. At this National Park, you will also see the Snæfellsnes glacier. A sleeping volcano lies beneath the glacier and is famous for a french novel by Jules Verne: Journey to the Center of the Earth.
