Reykjanes Volcanic Peninsula, Krýsuvík & Blue Lagoon (admission incl.)

 182 incl. tax

The Reykjanes Peninsula tour offers an extreme variety of landscapes dotted with fissures, lava fields and geothermal activity. We depart from Reykjavík heading towards a fishing town of Sandgerði before stopping at a stone built church of Hvalneskirkja built in 1887.

We continue our journey through the lava fields towards Sandvik where Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the tectonic plates meet. Here you can enjoy the dramatic landscapes caused by the pressure of the ridge and you can also walk across the bridge that extends between the European and the North American tectonic plates.

Next we get to get a glimpse of the oldest lighthouse in Iceland, Reykjanesviti and on a good weather day, we should be able to view a dark rock island, Eldey arising from the ocean. Our next stop is at Gunnuhver, a geothermal hot spring area with bubbling hot mud. Here, you will experience a walk through the hot springs and bubbling mud and feel the smell of sulphates.

From Gunnuhver we proceed to the Blue Lagoon to relax and recharge for the last leg of the tour that takes you through the fishing village of Grindavík along the coastline to Krýsuvík geothermal area and lake Kleifarvatn where you can explore hot springs, geothermal features and a spectacular landscape.
